AND THE WINNERS ARE.... KYLIE AND ALEXANDER! When I made this announcement at the start of July after my first campaign, I had no idea what I was in for. As I spoke to Kylie and Alexander about their concept an idea began to form, a really BIG idea and from there the most epic engagement shoot was created. The winner was to receive hair, makeup and styling for their session but the couple lived in Napa (but both grew up in Kansas) making it a little difficult due to covid to navigate them coming here. SO.... I thought, what if I went there to shoot it versus wait till they travel here. I knew we would have a backdrop that was beyond and document their time there as they start their married life together before they eventually move back to KC to start a family. So i went. We had ideas. We went after those ideas. We collaborated.

Getting shots like these is no easy task. The water is cold (REALLY COLD), the air was chilly (SUPER CHILLY), but we worked through it, froze, laughed at the discomfort and the results are beyond anything I thought possible. These two took me, a stranger, into their home and took the absolute best care of me. By the time I left California (a day late) I had made two really good friends. We laughed until our faces hurt, we walked until our feel were raw, we shared stories and connected in a way that makes these images so much more than pretty but rather real. I love these two. I love that they let me fly with creativity and trusted me fully. I am proud to call them friends and I believe together we created something that changes the way engagement images can be done.
